Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge.
Similar to physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.
Upon completion of the course, you will be certified as a Mental Health First Aider through the National Council of Mental Wellbeing. The certification is nationally recognized and good for three years.
Virtual classes -Held on Zoom -All time zones welcome
In-person classes -Currently serving Southeast Massachusetts for in-person sessions. -Held at Bristol Community College locations in Taunton, New Bedford, Attleboro, or Fall River.
Group Bookings -Virtual or In-Person sessions are available for group bookings. -We can bring the training directly to your site or you may choose to host the training at one of the Bristol Community College locations. -Group discounts are available—complete an inquiry form to receive customized pricing.

This course includes 1.5–2 hours of required self-paced pre-work, which must be completed at least 48 hours before the scheduled class.
You may complete the pre-work in multiple sessions at your convenience.
The virtual sessions: Live, instructor-led training delivered via Zoom. Each session lasts 6 hours. (participants who have completed their pre-work will receive the Zoom link 48 hours prior to the training)
The in-person: Instructor-led training held on site. Each session lasts 6 hours, and lunch is provided
Refund & Credit Policy: Once payment is received, no refunds will be issued for Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training sessions. We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, you may request a credit to apply toward a future training. To receive a credit, you must notify us at least 48 hours before the training start time. Credits are valid for 6 months and may be applied to any future MHFA training hosted by Empowered by Fancy, subject to availability.
